Christmas Bird

I made this little bird for the Design Team at the Crafty Scrapper!  We could do anything we wanted to I made this little bird.  I had seen one similar to this awhile back so I decided to make this one up myself!  I cut out the bird (2 pieces) and cut out part of a flourish from Maya Roads and then sewed it all together.  I added a pearl for the eye and cut out a little hole to place the white ribbon through.  I had a little crown from Tim Holtz so I painted it and added it as a crown.  I found at Hobby Lobby some little bird's nest and filled them with stuffing that I had around my home.  I also found at Hobby Lobby little bird eggs which I painted one silver and the other gold and added sprinkles to each.  I placed them in the next and added flowers, snowflakes, and stars!  I glued this all on a wooden spool which I painted and added ribbon and a stick pin from Maya Roads.

This is what the little nest looks like up close!  It really took me awhile to put this all together but I hope you really enjoy looking at this little bird!

Thank you for taking a peek and I wish you and your family a very happy Christmas!!

Let It Snow

This mini album was given to me for the Design Team at The Crafty Scrapper.  I was actually given from Teresa Collins Christmas Home Covers and 5 pages of BoBunny and was asked to create something.  So, I did and I hope  you like this mini album.  It is 8" X 8" and it took me a few days to complete.  The papers were about it snowing and since we live in Texas we only see snow every 3-5 years.  Some of these photos are taken here in Texas and a few are when we visited Colorado and we went to the top of Pikes Peak where it was snowing!!  Please enjoy this little mini album.

I used on this cover flowers from Prima and a white doiley and added lots of snowflakes from Maya Roads.

I love this paper from BoBunny and thought it would be perfect for my first page.  I added this little poem which is rather cute and then added lots of snowflakes!

These two pages are taken here in Texas.  The one on the left is the front of my home and the right page was taken early one morning and this is my backyard.  The early morning gave such a blue hue to the photo which I thought looks so cold and serene outside.  I used more BoBunny paper and added snowflakes and lace!

These two pictures are also taken at my home.  My oldest grandson was so excited about building a snowman and his Aunt Tiffany was also helping him.  Look at the photo on your right and notice how red his face is.  It is so cold outside!!!  I used a stencil by Prima and then used my ink pen to sketch inside of the stencil once I used ink to outline it.  I also used Prima flowers and lace.

These two photos were taken across the street from where I was working.  This was taken in 2009.  The photos show a farm house and on the right his tractor which is parked by the fence.  It was so snowing that the office was finally closed and we could go home.  We here in Texas have no idea how to drive in snow or ice!!!  Afterwards I was stuck at home for my driveway slopes downward into the garage and therefore I could not get my car out.  I used modeling paste for the leaves and then painted them with a light blue to give it a frosty look.  I then added flowers and lots of snowflakes.

These two photos were taken from my front porch.  The tree branches are snapping away from the trees due to the weight and the one on the right shows the tree branches so full of the beautiful snow.  This was one of the worst snow storms we have seen in  many years.  I added lace and flowers plus snowflakes.

These two photos are my grandson.  The one with him wearing his Texas sweatshirt was on top of Pikes Peak in Colorado.  I was wearing flip flops and shorts and was rather surprised to find snow!!!  I used flowers and lace plus the white doilies.

Thank you for taking a look at this album for it was so much fun to create.

Wearing Wild Flowers

I love, love these little photos of my granddaughter Kenzie.  She really does not like to have her hair done but I convinced her to please let me braid her hair and then pin it up with little daisies!  Well, that got her attention and I was able to take these cute little photos.  However, it was only short lived for she wanted her hair down afterwards!!  LOL  But isn't she a cutie?!!

I loved these main paper which is by Webster's which I thoroughly LOVE their papers!!  I distress the pages and added ink to them.  On the main paper I did stitch it in a zig zag!  I personally felt that not much needed to be added except for the silver corners and little buttons!  The flowers are by Prima!  I added this little saying "Let us dance in the sun, wearing wild flowers in our hair..." by Susan Polis Shutz.  It just sums it all up!

Grandchildren

I was given this cute little mini album from The Crafty Scrapper and the Design Team.  It is so tiny and cute and we were asked to create something and use our own supplies.  Well, I thought a moment and decided to create a mini album on my 4 grandchildren.  This album in about 4" wide and 2-3/4" tall which is very small.  I chose a quote that says "Grandchildren are the flowers in the garden of life."  I love that!  I added Prima flowers and used stickles to make it glisten!

I LOVE this sweet poem about grandchildren.  I do not know who created it but it is so lovely.  The photo is my first grandchild Logan.  I used scraps of paper (wish I knew who made it) and inked and added stickles.  The flowers are by Prima except for t he white one which is by Maya Roads.  The blue rose lace or ribbon is by Maya Roads as well.

Here is the today photo of Logan at age 12.  This is his first day of school in Houston.  I really miss this boy a lot!!!  I am so use to picking him up everyday after school and keeping him until his mother gets off work.  But, they moved on to Houston and things are going very well with them.  The bottom photo is my granddaughter Kenzie when she was born.  She was so tiny.  You can tell by her holding on to both of her parents fingers!!  I used various papers and stickles.  I also used Prima flowers and leaf plus stick pins by Maya Roads.

This is Kenzie today.  I had pinned her hair up and she was glad to let me take her photo.  The bottom photo is my other granddaughter Paityn.  She is so asleep and what a sweet little baby girl.  I used stickles, paper, and the orange flowers is from Maya Roads and I am not sure who made the white little daisies.  I added pink stone to each one and not sure who made those either.  I have had both for awhile.

This is Paityn today.  She is a little doll.  She really loves to dress up and she even allowed me to take this sweet photo.  The bottom photo is my youngest grandson Colby.  He was so tiny he could fit in this basket.  I used various papers, stickles, and Prima flowers.

This is my sweet grandson Colby today at 15 months.  I do keep him nearly everyday so his parents can go to work.  He is such a little pleasure to have around.  The bottom photo is all my sweetie pies!  I love each and everyone of them!

Childhood Memories

My cute little granddaughter Paityn!  She was 10 months old when this photo was taken.  On the back (on the bottom area) of this little outfit it says My First Christmas!  I did this layout for the Design Team at The Crafty Scrapper.  I really love the papers and all the embellishments that was given to me.  The paper I used for the background is one that I had from last year. It is made by the same company as all the other papers. I did a lot of cutting out, inking, etc.

This is a close up of the floral arrangement.  I used the clock and inked it and added the ribbon.  I found a Christmas brad that I have had for years to the center of the clock.

I love this quote "Our hearts grow tender with Childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.  I really like Laura Ingalls Wilder.  I tore, inked and added dots to the back to lift it up from the paper.  I then cut out holly and did the same thing which I then added two little bells.

On this part of the layout I was given snowflakes from Maya Roads.  I painted them with a light blue acrylic paint and then let them dry completely.  I added from flocking powder to make it look like it had some snow.
