Special

This was such a fun and personal layout for me.  At More Than Words the subject was "Special" which to me is my grandmother.  Her name is Louise and she is 104 years old.  She still lives by herself and she can even drive.

As you can see I am so happy and very lucky to still have my grandmother with me.  She had one child, my mother, and she passed away last year.  I am also a grandmother to 4 and another on the way.  That will make her a great, great, grandmother.

I used various blue papers, a new die cut by Tim Holtz, and something borrowed (the pen which I wrote Love on the heart).  I also used something old which is very valuable to me.  It is the silver pin which my mother gave to me many years ago.  Isn't it lovely!

November 2016 Main Challenge
SPECIAL & OUR QUOTE

Oh, how time flies!  It's November already, almost a year since More Than Words made its debut. This time last year we, the Admin team, were excitedly brainstorming this new concept and working together day in and day out to shape it into reality!  We are thrilled about it all turned out and are so happy to see your entries
inspired by our challenges each month.
And speaking of challenges, here is a brand new one for November :
Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.
The challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.
Word Inspiration - SPECIAL
Creative Challenge - OUR QUOTE
What does the word SPECIAL inspire you to create? You can chose to use the word somewhere on your project or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post how the word inspired you, if not already obvious.
Even though we were inspired by weddings for our creative challenge, you do not have to create a wedding-themed project. The instructions are simple - we want you to follow OUR QUOTE as inspiration and use something OLD, something NEW, something BORROWED or something BLUE on your project.
For example, you can decide to use a brand new paper collection (NEW) or add blue paint on your background (BLUE). You can use some of those old antique buttons you've got stored away (OLD) or use a tool that you have borrowed from a friend (BORROWED). Please let us know which ones you've used. You can even challenge yourself and use all four! We will also accept projects that display the quote itself.  Easy, right?
VERY IMPORTANT! You have to incorporate both requirements of the challenge - the word inspiration AND the creative challenge - on your project to be eligible to win. Just look at our desisgners' creations and descriptions as example. Also, remember that you must include our board image and a link to our blog in your entry post.

Homecoming

Here is my layout for CSI.  You had to use their sketch which I love for these photos of my GS Logan and his girlfriend Callie.

The Scheme:  I used all 5 colors
The Evidence:   I used woodgrain background, Heat embossing, Metal, Leaves
The Testimony:  Homecoming - Written on the tag it says:  Homecoming Texas is spectacular!  The kids wear big MUMS!!  They also wear matching outfits during school.  Then the BIG game where they choose Homecoming King  & Queen.  Later is the school dance.  Nothing like TEXAS!

Here is my layout.

This took me several days to complete but it was so worth it.

Please see the close-ups!

Here you can see I used modeling paste and stencil then colored it with Gelatos.  I used Gesso on the flower and painted it and then added micro beads.

I also added micro beads to the green leaves and Diamond Stickles to the butterfly.

Here you can see the metal keys and what the tag says.

I added stickles to the flowers.

Thank you for looking and have a wonderful day!

Explore

I did this sweet layout of my grandson Colby.  He is such a delight and always so curious about things.  This challenge at Scrap Africa was perfect for this photo!

Scrap Africa

You can create a card, tag, layout, an altered project, journal pages or even a digital project!
You can create whatever you like! ;-)

We would just love to know what inspired you from the sketch and the sentiment behind your project!;-)

Here is my layout!

I just loved working on this.  I used so many techniques and the color blue and yellow was perfect.

Please see the close-ups!

You can see the beads and other objects that I used plus string, embossing, and die cuts.

I used water color around the photo plus a stencil.  On the frame I used paste to give it a rusty look.

I wanted circles around the photo using blue and yellow.  I really love this.

Thank you for looking and please have a great day!

Gather

Well here it is ... November.  Where has the year gone?!  The older I get the faster time flies.  Anyway, here is my tag for Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2016.

I think this one is so sweet and looks Fall.  I did not have all the items that Tim Holtz used but this is perfect for me.

Please see the close-ups!

I used watercolor on this leaf and added Prills.  I also used two different stamps.

This large leaf was on part of a paper that I have had forever!  I inked around the edges and added Prills.  I stamped the butterfly and added watercolors.  The small butterfly I punched it out and then used watercolors.    The ribbon which you can see on the main photo I inked it with two different distress inks.

Thank you for looking and enjoy your day.
