Life Is One Big Adventure

I did this quick and easy canvas for the Design Team at The Crafty Scrapper.  This is my grandson Logan and he loves to fish!!

I was given these fishing papers and Logan came to my mind immediately!  He loves fishing and loves driving the boat!!  Now him driving the boat can be scary for me!!

I painted the background a light blue and then added a stencil.  I inked a darker blue around the edges of the canvas.

I used real fish hooks and then cut out a small worm and tied it to the hook.

I used these two oars and then glued on the cut out fish!

I had this piece of string in my stash and decided to glue it on and then added this big fish!

Thank you for looking and please visit The Crafty Scrapper.  You will find this canvas there and on the back you will find all that I used on this canvas.

Memory

I did this layout for the Design Team at The Crafty Scrapper.  I love the papers which reminded me of my dad who at the age of 17 joined the navy.  Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on his 17th birthday and being one of 11 kids he and several of his brothers joined the services.

I made everything red, white, and blue.  I really miss my dad these days but I know I will see him again.  I used several pieces of papers that I tore and added corrugated cardstock as well as burlap.

I love the flowers and added sprigs of the burlap.

I used a gold glittery alphabet letters.  My dad was so young which he lied about his age so he could join the navy!

Thank you again for looking and please visit The Crafty Scrapper and on the back of this layout you will find the list of items that I used.

Summer Getaway

Well here is another layout I did for the design team at CSI Color Stories Inspiration.  This was so much fun and I hope you like it too!!  We as a family love going to Galveston each summer to spend some time together.  Here you will see my two daughters and two granddaughters.  However, the granddaughters do not belong to my daughters but to my two sons!

Here is the case file:

This is how I solved this:

The Scheme:  I used all 5 colors
The Evidence:  Flowers, Triangles, Rub-Ons
The Testimony:  Summer Getaway - In the Waves

Please see the close-ups

I cut out the triangles and added the words.  I used a rope cord as well.

I used corrugated cardstock to adhere my photos to.  I cut out the green like leaves at a triangle and then bent them back and forth.

Here is a list of supplies that I used:

Graphic 45 Vintage Hollywood Collection Delightful Debut Paper
49th and Market Flower Fairies of Spring At The Quarry Paper
Flowers from Michaels and Hobby Lobby
White and Blue cardstock
Starfish - from my stash

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!

Explore

Hello friends!  This is my take on More Than Words Challenge.  We had to use the word Explore and also use arrows!  I could not think of nothing better than to use a photo of my new grandson Jaxson who is 4 months.  He has so much to see and explore in his NEW world!  I love him so!!

Isn't he cute!!  Here is the challenge and please join in on the fun!

July 2017 Main Challenge
EXPLORE & ARROWS

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.
The challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.
Make sure to carefully read our instructions below.
Word Inspiration - EXPLORE
Creative Challenge - ARROWS
What does the word EXPLORE inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it.  Since, as you are aware, words are an integral
part of our challenges, we want to know how this month's word stimulated
your creative process, so please do explain in your blog post how it inspired you!
July is often a month during which we like to get away and explore new horizons whether we are in the Northern hemisphere and are enjoying Summer holidays or in the Southern hemisphere and want to escape Winter for a warmer climate. So we go our own way... follow our arrow, wherever it points! So, our creative challenge this month is to add ARROWS (1 or more) on your project!
VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT MTW RULES!
To be eligible to win, you have to incorporate both requirements of the challenge,
the word inspiration (EXPLORE) and the creative challenge (ARROWS).
Just look at our designers' projects and descriptions as examples.
You must also include our board image as well as a link to our blog in your entry post.  AND you may combine our challenge with no more than 2 other challenges

Here are the close-ups:

I have had the brown paper for so many years and I thought it would work perfectly on this layout.  I then cut it out and cut out a circle to go around the photos.  The photos are actually one photo which I did on the computer.

I used these letters and added the string.  I cut out the arrows after I drew them and then put the yellow and green cardstock behind them to give them some strength to put pop up dots to adhere them to the layout.

I had three gears in my stash which I have had for awhile.  I used paste paint to give them the old feeling.  I added flowers and used a die cut to make the leaves.  I then added the micro beads.

Thank you so much for looking and enjoy your day!

Forever

Hello everyone!  Today I am sharing my layout for the Design Team at CSI Color Stories Inspiration.   This was about a weekend ritual and I can not think of anything more than spending time with our grandchildren.  We love watching the kids play in the water, going places and seeing things that they really love and last but not least watching them love on their new sibling.
On this layout they gave us a sketch for us to follow which I find many times hard to do but I really love it because it forces me to do something out of my comfort zone.  Here is my take:

Here is how I solved the case:

The Scheme:  Used all 5 colors
The Evidence:  Flowers, Leaves, Wood, Watercolor
The Testimony:  Forever - It's the little things that make life big, Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder - Do what you love, love what you do.

Please see my close-ups!

I added ink to the word Forever and then added stickles.  I also used beads and sequins.

I used leaf cutouts and added a stitch lines around the banner.

On this I used modeling paste and stencil.  When dried I used crackle paint and once dried I used brown ink and then added stickles.

I used a butterfly stamp and then watercolors and then added stickles.

Here is a list of items that I used:

49th & Market - Faded Bloom Paper
Tim Holtz - Distress Ink - Vintage Photo, Leaves Die cut, Crackle Paint, Words "verses"
BoBunny - Butterfly Stamp
Flowers - Michael's
Beads, Sequins, Watercolor - My Stash

Thank you for looking and please join us for some fun at CSI Color Stories Inspiration.
