Our Adventure

I decided to use this photo of my husband Eddie and me for this layout.  It is a color scheme from CSI Color Stories Inspiration.  I love their challenges each week but many times life just takes me away for a week or two.

 Here is CSI Challenges:

I used dark red, beige, tan, dark brown, and a grayish green.  For the evidence I used polka dots, wet medium, curves, anchor, and wood grain paper.  The testimony I used the word Adventure in my letter that I wrote which is written on the tag.

Here are some close ups:

I love this challenge for it brought back memories of Eddie and me since we were married.

This is what was written on the tag:

Our adventure began with “I Do” on June 5, 1970.  I was just 19 and Eddie was 21.  We met when I was a junior in High School and he was a Freshman at University of Texas in Arlington.  We married when he was a senior which left him one more year to graduate.  It was also a time of the Vietnam War.  We made it through the times with one car and we were both working.  I became pregnant with our first child Heather who was born March 7, 1973.  Mandy followed on June 20, 1976 which happened to be Father’s Day.  Five years went by and we had our son Ryan on June 12, 1981 and Christopher on June 25, 1983.  Our family was complete.  Eddie had a good job and I was a stay at home mom.  Once our family all moved onward in their life we were left in a large home so we down sized.  We are still living in this home which I find very peaceful!  We now have 4 grandchildren….Logan, Kenzie, Paityn, and Colby.  I love each and every one of these beautiful kids.  We have had our bad times and plenty of good times.  But through it all we still have one thing…the two of us.  Thank God we were given such a blessing in our lives.  What more could one ask for!  We have friends, family and life is perfect for us.

One day our children may read this and I hope they will understand how proud and happy we are to have had the four of them for your children and we are further blessed with our grandchildren.

Love you all!

Sweet Boy

I love this boy for he is so cute!  I could eat him up to say the least!  I was on a retreat and I did this layout of him.  I took the photo and put a blurry effect around it.  It gave it a much softer feel.

I used various papers that I have had laying around.  I distressed around the edges and used distressing ink.  On the third paper I used a punch by Martha Stewart and inked that as well.  I used homemade modeling paste that I got from Gabrielle.  I love her work.  I cut out the v shape and added part of a zipper.  I also had various chipboard pieces which I painted with Gesso and then used inks and stains.  The clock is by Tim Holtz.  It is one of my most favorite pieces of his.  I added flowers and used Stamendous to emboss on the edges.  I then added ink to the modeling paste to give it a more antique feeling.

Here are some close ups!

Thank you for looking for I really appreciate it a lot.  Your comments are always welcomed.

Read

I did this layout for the challenge at CSI Color Stories Inspiration.  I choose this photo of my granddaughter Kenzie because she loves to read books.  She just entered first grade and it is such a pleasure to see her so excited about reading.

I used many techniques on this layout.  I used distressed paint, distress sprays, modeling paste, hand painted stitching, and used embossing powder.

This is what we were asked to do on this layout.  I used all 5 colors, tape measure, numbers, clips and paint.  On the journaling I used the word Read put on the rolled up piece of paper tied with a tassel has a note that I wrote to Kenzie.

It has been a blast to follow each week on CSI and get their latest challenges.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Commencement Ceremony

Hello to my scrapbooking friends!  I just finished this layout of my two
granddaughters with their parents.  This layout is for the Design Team of The Crafty Scrapper. The top photo is of my youngest granddaughter Paityn who just graduated to kindergarten The second photo is of Kenzie who just graduated to first grade.

I love these papers by Authentique -Faith Collection
and October Afternoon – Public Library Collection.
I used the cog / wheels frame but I cut in half so it would fit
perfectly around both of my photos.

I used various techniques – distress paint, inks, embossing,
modeling paste, sprays, etc. etc.

Please visit The Crafty Scrapper where you will find this layout.
On the back of this layout you will find all the items that I used.
 Thanks for taking a peek!
