Birthday

Hello my friends!  Today I did this layout for CSI design team.  We could do it one of two ways and I decided to do this one with the original version.  I also did this layout for More Than Words Challenge which you will find below as well as CSI.

We were to do this layout and document a childhood memory.  So, I found this photo of me on my first birthday.  Yes, I am 67 years old and proud that I have been lucky enough to live this long.

Here is the case file:
This is how I solved this case:

The Scene:  Used all 5 colors
The Evidence:  Floral Pattern, Flowers, Doily, Clock, Dots
The Testimony:  Birthday - On the back I wrote:  On January 17, 1951 I made my entrance into this world.  What a grand day it was for me because I have been so lucky to live a wonderful life.  I love this picture of me and the envelope and small card was given to my mom the day I was born.  I will treasure this layout forever.

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.
The challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.
Make sure to carefully read our instructions below.

Word Inspiration - BIRTHDAY
Creative Challenge - TAGS

What does the word BIRTHDAY inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it.  Since words are an integral part of our challenges, we want to know how this month's word stimulated your creative process, so please do explain in your blog post how it inspired you!

January 2018 marks the 2nd anniversary of the More Than Words challenge blog. Happy Birthday to us! We thought we'd invite you to celebrate with us by incorporating a minimum of 2 TAGS on your project, just as you might on a birthday gift. You can keep your tags plain and simple or you can choose to decorate them however you like. You can choose the size, shape and colour. You can make them the focal point of your project, or you can slip them discreetly behind your photo. It's your choice, just as long as your layout, canvas or art journal page includes at least 2 tags!

VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT MTW RULES!
To be eligible to win, you have to incorporate both requirements of the challenge,
the word inspiration and the creative challenge.
Just look at our designers' projects and descriptions as examples.

You must also include our board image as well as a link to our blog in your entry post.  AND you may combine our challenge with no more than 2 other challenges.

Please see the close-ups!

I love this little card that was given to my mom so I just had to add it to this layout.

This layout took me two days to complete.  You can see all the details I used.  I inked the leaves, added a string bow, used micro beads, and stamps.

I used two different modeling paste - white and gold.

I cut the wooden bucket out and then added the roses plus the little bird.

The items that I used -

Prima- paper, flowers,
49th & Market - Cut outs
Tim Holtz - Leaf die cut, vintage distress ink
Ribbon, modeling paste, letters, doily, micro beads, string, stencils, stamps, etc. - My stash

Thank you for looking and may you have a wonderful day!

Hugs – Ginger

  1. What a pretty page Ginger! I see that you have linked it in the More Than Words January Main Challenge but you make no mention at all in your blog post about the MTW challenge. In order to be eligible to win one of our prizes, you have to include our board image, a link to our blog and explain how you were inspired by our challenge. You still have a few days to include that in for a chance to win! :)
